How did a 22 year old end up in the wig industry? My story starts 7 years ago when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Shortly after her diagnosis, she went to a local wig shop and bought a wig. She had a pleasant experience getting her wig, fought her battle with cancer, and grew her hair back. Meanwhile, I finished high school, and was trying to determine my next steps. In my search for my future, my mom came across a 'now hiring' Facebook post from the wig shop she had gone to years prior. She came to me and said excitedly, "Josie! I have the most perfect job for you!" A few phone calls later, I got the job!
Never in my life had I ever imagined working in hair or with wigs. But I have fallen in love with it. I have seen wigs change the lives of some incredible women. The feeling I get knowing that I have helped a woman feel more confident in herself is something incomparable.
After working at the local wig shop for two years, I had an opportunity in my college career to start a new form of wig business. As I was working at the shop, I saw an untapped market that no one was chasing. So I took the opportunity to create this business. With the help of my professors, my family, and many other wonderful people, I have found a way to do what I love, with the people I adore, all while living my life at the same time.
